Road II/546 ensures the interconnection of settlement centres of Prešov and Košice region, addresses the accessibility to related social services in the south-western part of PSK, at the same time it serves to connect adjacent towns, densely populated villages and economic actors – industrial parks on road I/18 and the D1 motorway network and also provides connection of adjacent municipalities to the important railway node in Margecany. The subject of the project is to modernise and increase the safety parameters of road II/546 in sections located in the cadastral area of Bajerov, Klenov, Kvačany and Žipov. The construction of the road II/546 in the total length of the reconstructed road 11,572 km, reconstruction of 2 bridge objects, passes, replacement and addition of locks and implementation of safety transport subsystems. The aim of the reconstruction is to increase the safety and fluidity of road traffic, to increase the traffic comfort of road users, to extend the life of the affected building objects and to improve the system of drainage of the road.The result of the project is mainly reconstruction and modernisation of road II. Class road in the length of 11.572 km and Time saving in road traffic on roads II. and III. class expressed in value EUR 1194431 for the reference year 2014.
