The main objective of the project is to improve the situation of the population of marginalised Roma communities (MRC) in the field of social determinants of health (SGA). The main activity of the project is the implementation and development of medical mediation, education in MRC. We understand health mediation as a kind of community-based work that engages and educates individuals – laymen from target communities – to carry out systematic work on SDZ at community level. From the implementation of the activities of the Healthy Communities 2A project we expect the introduction of health promotion in the MRC (improving communication and relations between the CLLD and healthcare providers, increasing confidence in the health system, improving access to health care by reducing internal barriers, increasing participation in preventive examinations and compulsory vaccinations, ensuring early identification of the incidence of infectious diseases, reducing unjustified expeditions for rapid medical assistance, increasing health literacy, improving the level of personal and communal hygiene, awareness-raising activities aimed at preventing addictive substances, improving postpartum care, supporting breastfeeding, etc.) and building new human capacities in CLLD (increasing employment and skills).
