Research and development under the present project is focused on the domain of smart specialisation RIS3 SK “Transport means for the 21st century” within the product area of knowledge “energy”. Within this field of knowledge, research and development will be carried out on the product line “Systems for generation, distribution, supply, storage, energy recovery”. The project will carry out independent research and development in the field of electricity distribution systems in order to achieve a stable electricity supply, taking into account the expected rapid development of electromobility in Slovakia and the EU. In this field of science, knowledge of the current state, capabilities and lifetime of electricity distribution systems will be enhanced, which is a prerequisite for ensuring a stable supply of powered vehicles. Current knowledge will also be extended to include knowledge on factors influencing and limiting parameters and the lifetime of electricity distribution systems. They will be involved in research activities. The realisation of the R & D itself in the project is carried out by a research team that has a balanced representation from top researchers, namely five professors and four associate professors, nine experienced researchers with a third level of education and up to young early researchers currently starting doctoral studies. Researchers have many years of experience in the field of material research, production technologies, electrical protection and substations, studies of technological processes and implementation of both experimental and simulation methods into research and development activities.
