The project will carry out independent research and development with the overall objective of contributing to mitigating the negative impacts of climate change through a study and scientific assessment of the impact of biotic and abiotic factors on the components of the soil-water-atmosphere-plant cover system. The overall objective of the project is in line with the Healthy Food and Environment Smart Specialisation Domain and falls within the knowledge-based field of environmental engineering. The applicant’s planned activities reflect the current societal needs in the field of changing climate and are in line with the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation of Slovakia (RIS3 SK). RIS3 SK. The activity of the project promoter is focused on the following product lines of the knowledge field of environmental engineering in the domain Healthy Food and Environment:1) Systems for the protection of agricultural and forest land against degradation2) Systems and technologies for preventing negative impacts of climate change in agriculture and forestry through direct outputs and results of selected product lines to meet the NACE Main SK:1. Number of research institutions supported, which is 1 SPU in Nitra.2. Number of publications created under the project, which will be 6.3. The number of existing researchers working in the R & D activities of the project will be 7,3.4. Number of supported participations of foreign researchers in the project activities of the Slovak R & D institution, which will be 1. 4 cross-cutting objectives will also contribute significantly to the overall objective:1) Utilise the research and innovation potential of the SPU in Nitra with a focus on the AgroBioTech Research Centre as a basis for R & D activities 2) to synthesise scientific fields in order to strengthen the field of environmental engineering in the context of the negative impacts of climate as one of the main themes of R & D3) Strengthen the transfer of knowledge and research results and awareness of the professional as well as the wider public by increasing the publishing activity4) Strengthening the international position of scientific research capacities in the ERA (European Research Area).
