The SpatialTrain Scholarships Scheme aims to provide quality tertiary education in the field of geospatial technology (geomatics) to the public administration within government entities. It will provide the human capacity and expertise to upgrade the knowledge base in the use of geospatial technology as part of the development of the national spatial infrastructure within the public sector.The project's key objectives is to strengthen the public administration are: to enhance the administrative skills pertaining to spatial information systems, spatial data creation and management and their dissemination for internal and public use; to upscale existing skills of public officers to reach better outcomes on evidence-based policy making based on the analysis and interpretation of their spatial data; and to improve the implementation of decisions based on informed results emanating from management and executive information systems utilising spatial information.
