The SYZEFXIS II project is the “core project” for the establishment of the Public Sector Network (PSO) as defined in Chapter I of Law 3979/2011 on eGovernment. It is an exclusively eGovernment project whose main objective is to rationalise and utilise the available ICT resources of the Public Administration and to achieve significant economies of scale in terms of both the costs of the procurement of ICT hardware and the costs associated with its operation. The SYZEFXIS II project is essentially a transformation and extension of the SYZEFXIS SYZEFXIS I projects, which were implemented and supported on behalf of the Greek State by the GTS SA, and includes the supply of all necessary infrastructure and all necessary telecommunications services for an indicative number of approximately 34,000 public buildings covering a very large proportion of the public sector’s telecommunications needs (compared to the 4,485 buildings of the original SYZEFXIS) for a period of at least 3 years. the project “SYZEFXIS II” has specific features, such as a multi-annual timetable for the provision of services, tendering procedures of the type of Framework Agreement, the formulation of many and different implementing calls and contracts, etc., which, on the one hand, add a significant management complexity and, on the other hand, establish a development schedule that is marginally located within the 2014-2020 NSRF period. It is therefore absolutely important to start implementing it as soon as possible. In addition, when contracting, specific data to be taken into account and used for the operation of the network are required to be made available to contractors. In view of the above, it is important (a) to speed up the implementation of the administrative actions required without undue delays, (b) to make available the information needed for both the call for implementation and the implementation of the projects by the contractors. In order to achieve the above, it is necessary to implement additional technical assistance actions, which will support the operation of the network.
