EGNATIA OBSERVATORY

In the modern context of sustainable development and mobility and territorial cohesion, the importance of Egnatia Road projects and other motorways, as well as the size of investments, require the promotion of complementary actions, in addition to the construction and operation-maintenance, which will multiply their development benefits. The physical object of this project is based on the strategic programming of the actions of the “Egnatia Road Observatory” for the period 2016-2023 approved by the Board of Directors of Egnatia Odos AE (Egnatia Odos SA) and concerns the implementation of the following actions: (I) Scientific and technical support from external contractors (advisers) to ensure the reliable and seamless production operation and distribution of the Observatory’s results, products and services, in accordance with the new institutional framework of public procurement and in line with the modern developments and requirements of transport policy, as well as spatial planning and development planning in Greece.(ii) elaboration of the necessary measurements/research-studies supporting the calculation and monitoring of specific indicators and spatial impact issues, which cannot be implemented internally by the Observatory and the EOAE, because their subject requires a complex scientific approach and specific field analysis/measurement techniques. (III) Procurement of software such as the cartographic backgrounds of satellite images, which will be used in the context of the preparation of studies and research and the presentation of the relevant results by the Observatory.(iv)Supply of services in order to implement effective publicity actions of the physical object and the results of the project, as well as for the general exploitation and networking of the Observatory, such as the publication and dissemination of specific information forms and exhibitions and the organisation of information and scientific events.
