The proposed project concerns the implementation of targeted energy upgrading and energy saving interventions (ETS-Energy Category 1), demonstration action for the exploitation of Renewable Energy Sources (Energy Category 2), replacement actions for medical equipment (Energy Category 3), as well as other supporting actions by the General Hospital of Patras “Agios Andreas” which will make a decisive contribution to: Improving the energy efficiency of the reference building and the hospital as a whole; Limiting the energy footprint of the building and the hospital as a whole; Significant savings on an annual basis by reducing energy costs; The protection of the environment; Raising public awareness; The creation of adequate conditions of comfort and the provision of nursing work; The reduction of damage and increased reliability of key E/M facilities; In order to encourage other public administration bodies to undertake similar projects. Energy upgrading and energy saving interventions concern the hospital’s “G. Gennimatas” building, which will be upgraded (after the implementation of the interventions) to a higher energy class than the existing one, while the implementation of RES actions (installation of PV system) of 19.80 kW will contribute to the savings of around 3 372 kWh/year (net metering) with an annual financial benefit of approximately EUR 3 926.67, while at the same time increasing the levels of utilisation of solar energy by the hospital.
