The so-called “Psaromahalas” refers to the “fisherman’s quarter” of the city of Nafplion, is one of the oldest and picturesque districts of the city and extends at the foot of the northwestern Akronafplia, above Staikopoulou Street. Interventions in the area of Psaromamalas are crucial for the completion of a comprehensive network of interventions in the Old Town, which is a powerful element of Nafplion’s identity as a destination. The regeneration project concerns the pedestrianisation and upgrading of the design area, which provides for repairs, reconstructions, improvement of pedestrian paths (on Papanikolaou streets, photomara and lanes) that will help to enhance the area’s traffic, promote and improve the functional connection with the old city.
