Promotion of employment through Public Benefit Programmes for 36,500 people, in municipalities, regions, Social Welfare Centres of Regions (KKPI)/relevant bodies, Ministries and other bodies

The action aims to support/promote employment of 36,500 unemployed, with a focus mainly on vulnerable groups at high risk of exclusion (such as, but not limited to, long-term unemployed, low-skilled unemployed) and need to work first in a “protected environment” in order to integrate into the labour market and avoid marginalisation, while maintaining their employability. At the same time, the action is linked to the upgrading of knowledge and skills according to the real personalised needs of the unemployed to help participants in their labour market integration process. The objective of the action is to promote the employment of unemployed persons registered with the OAED (beneficiaries) through their placement for a total period of eight (8) months in accordance with Law 4152/2013, such as the Public Call will specialise, in municipalities, regions, social welfare centres (KKPI)/relevant bodies, Ministries and other bodies (supervising bodies), as well as participation in training to further strengthen and upgrade the qualifications and skills of the unemployed. Beneficiaries who participated in OAED public calls 9/2017, 4/2018, 8/2018 and 3/2019 do not have the right to participate in the action. In particular, the action includes two actions: placement in a specific job for 8 months in municipalities, regions, Regional Social Welfare Centres (KKPI)/relevant bodies and services of Ministries and other bodies. A theoretical training programme of up to 150 hours, depending on the subject area chosen by the beneficiary, will lead to the certification of knowledge and skills. The participation of beneficiaries in the training action is compulsory for beneficiaries up to the age of 54, and for beneficiaries over 55 years of age it is voluntary. Training will take place in licensed Lifelong Learning Centres, which have the role of a training provider. Examples include the following priority areas: upgrading the services provided to citizens by local authorities, such as upgrading and maintaining municipal infrastructure, upgrading the operation of municipal services with emphasis on promoting the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), cleanliness, support and improvement of education services, improvement of public administration’s social services and services of general interest to citizens, ecological actions, green shaping/maintenance services, transition to the circular economy, prevention of natural disasters, first aid, senior care skills, construction work
