The Act concerns the support and operation of the Environmental Education Centres (CCIs). The CCIs provide education, awareness-raising and information to pupils and teachers (primary and secondary education), for the development of a knowledge-based and valuable background on the environment and sustainable development. The main objective of their operation is to support the institution of environmental education at local, national and international level, raising awareness among students on environmental issues in order to become environmentally responsible, able to form societies of morality and responsibility to nature.
