The Picasso supercomputer is the fundamental infrastructure of the "Plataforma en Red Andaluza" for Technological Support in Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics (PAB) and the ICTS RES-Picasso. It is housed at the Supercomputing and Bioinformatics Center (SCBI) of the University of Malaga._x000D_ _x000D_ The periodic updating of the hardware is essential to maintain the service level of the supercomputer. Thus, in 2017 the storage system has been updated through the Feder UNMA15-CE-3473, Data Storage and Protection System._x000D_ _x000D_ The proposal is aimed at updating the computing servers (1900 cores) and the InfiniBand network (FDR 54 Gbps) of the Picasso supercomputer, which have exceeded six years of operation and are out of warranty. Due to the antiquity and the lack of guarantee the system has currently switched off servers that in total accumulate 980 cores. Its renewal is essential to maintain the quality of service and comply with the technological requirements that membership of the ICTS requires._x000D_ _x000D_ There are a total of 76 UMA research groups that use SCBI's supercomputing services, with 293 researchers from the UMA. In addition, through the PAB, Picasso has users of 51 Andalusian PAIDI research groups, belonging to 14 research organizations. Finally, there are the users of the RES, whose projects consume high computational resources.
