The requested infrastructure aims to update and optimise the Medical Imaging Unit (U24) of the ICTS network NANBIOSIS, located at the Jesus Usón de Cáceres Minimum Invasion Surgery Center, for which it is requested the acquisition of a C-arch with flat detector technology, a contrast injector for applications in cardiovascular radiology (TC and fluoroscopy) and radiation protection systems (10 sets of vest + flap and a mobile lead crystal screen) for researchers working using this infrastructure. These are equipment that will be used primarily for preclinical and translational research in cardiovascular pathologies, by a stable and consolidated research group composed of CCMIJU staff and clinical cardiologists from HGU Gregorio Marañón and San Pedro de Alcántara hospital. The acquisition of these equipment will allow continuity under competitive conditions to various lines of research in this field, such as post-infarction myocardial regeneration projects and cardiac electrophysiology. The project falls directly within the framework of the RIS3 Strategy of Extremadura, which in the area of excellence of the HEALTH details different priorities included in the 5th Regional Research Programme; these include preclinical research applied to stem cells and animal modelling.
