Preclinical nuclear imaging platform, as a complement to the Multimodal Preclinical Imaging Service

This proposal is based on the adquisition of new equipment included in the Preclinical Nuclear Imaging Platform, as a complement to Multimodal Preclinical Imaging Service of the Andalusian Centre for Nanomedicine and Biotechnology (BIONAND), whose cutting-edge equipment is designed to offer the possibility to undertake the whole physical, chemical and functional characterization of nanostructures with biological applications process, as well as its preclinical validation._x000D_ The Multimodal Preclinical Imaging Service is formed by a preclinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging Equipment (Bruker Biospec 9.4T), an Fluorescent and Bioluminescent Optical Imaging in vivo Equipment (Bruker Xtreme) and a Computed Tomography Equipment (Bruker Albira)._x000D_ This proposal consists on the acquisition of the PET and SPECT modules for the Bruker Albira Equipment, in order to be converted into a trimodal equipment (PET/SPECT/CT)._x000D_ By this acquisition, BIONAND will have a complete multimodal imaging platform, which will cover all the preclinical imaging modalities, with the additional possibility of combining them, and becoming a unique facility in Malaga and Andalucia, with the aim of offering the possibility to basic researchers, clinicians and companies to carry out preclinical studies in order to probe new nanomaterials for the smart diagnostic of different pathologies.
