The Central Support Services for Research (SCAI) is a center of the University of Malaga (UMA) designed to provide scientific and technical support in a centralized and comprehensive manner, both to the different research groups of the UMA as well as to public institutions and private businesses._x000D_ Since its creation, the SCAI has been consolidated as a structure that provides high added value to the UMA, facilitating the development of the different lines of research carried out in it, as well as encouraging the creation of new lines._x000D_ Thanks to the critical mass provided by these facilities, a global management and maintenance by the UMA is possible, which guarantees optimal conditions of use and profitability of existing infrastructures._x000D_ The staff of the SCAI comprises a total of 49 specialized technicians, of whom 81.6% are doctors or graduates who value the available infrastructures. This close technical-user collaboration contributes decisively to the continuous improvement of both the technical features and our infrastructures._x000D_ In particular, the Mass Spectrometry Unit, with a trajectory of more than 15 years, is a key transversal service in scientific production. With the acquisition of a GC-HRMS the service portfolio of the Unit is completed and allows us to address the growing demand in the determination of secondary metabolites in plant species.
