The objective of this proposal is to have an Electronics Laboratory for Medium Power Applications (LEAP), to consolidate and strengthen the UPM IEC research line in the fields of More Electric Aircraft, Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy. It is important to note that it would not only benefit the CIS, it would also benefit companies in the sector such as AIRBUS, INDRA, FAGOR, CRISA, etc., which would have facilities where, in collaboration with the CIS, they could design and test medium-power equipment for sectors that are in constant innovation such as the More Electric Aircraft, the electric vehicle, the fast battery chargers, renewable energies, grid connections, etc., all key technologies for sustainable development and efficient electricity consumption._x000D_ The CIS has been researching in the area of Power Electronics for more than 30 years. It is an international reference centre, having been recognised by the PSMA as one of the 5 reference research centres at European level. This trend towards greater use of electrical energy is leading to the need to equip laboratories with higher power capacity to cover new areas of research. For this reason, it is very important to be able to equip our laboratory with new equipment that allows us to move from the current 10KVA to 50KVA and to support the industry with these facilities.
