Sustainability for the hotspots of the Mediterranean in Andalusia integrating the ERIC LifeWatch (SUMHAL)

The project aims to implement a strategy for the conservation of biodiversity in sustainable natural or semi-natural systems of the western Mediterranean access point, based on highly technological infrastructures, and the partnership between excellent researchers and citizens. Its main objective is to establish a technologically efficient and scientifically robust system that combines fieldwork, VRE for the recording, storage, analysis and dissemination of conservation status and threats to Andalusian biodiversity and the most frequent ecosystems. We will offer virtual tools not only to researchers, but also to society and conservation agencies, to assess the current situation after considering the past, make informed decisions and undertake adaptive management actions, in order to reduce vulnerability and loss of culture and natural heritage.
