The operation consists of various actions aimed at a reduction of CO2 in the municipality that derive from the implementation of the Sustainable and Intelligent Urban Mobility Plan and that seek to make the municipality an accessible, intelligent and sustainable city, reducing the environmental impact caused by transport and achieving an energy balance and modal distribution, contributing to improve the quality of life of citizens. The objective of the operation is to provide the municipality with an infrastructure consisting of the construction of a deterrent car park for light vehicles, in order to reduce the circulation of the private vehicle in the urban area and centre of the population, in line with the proposals derived from the SUMP. The parking on the outskirts of the municipality contributes to a reduction of pressure from private vehicles and to the reduction of CO2 in the center of the municipality, and also leads to the improvement of the Barrio del Rio Turia through urban and landscape regenerations (contemplated in the OT6). This operation is also in line with the Network of Parking Sensors (OT2) being implemented in the municipality, maintaining the integrated nature of the operation and strategy. It is a car park at height, i.e. executed on the current level of the land, consisting of two parking floors and a higher floor on which a public pedestrian space (Operation contemplated in OT9) will be generated. The car park envelope will be opened, so that it is a permeable, integrated building, allowing ventilation and natural lighting, as well as shaping itself as a sustainable building. It is envisaged that it can be energy-fed by renewable energy installations (photovoltaic plates and urban wind turbines covered by OT4).
