Integral urban regeneration to generate a new public space in the streets Mare Nostrum and Agermanats de Quart de Poblet (Barrio del Turia).

This is an investment in social infrastructures that will renovate and revalue Mare Nostrum and Agermanats streets, and will enable the physical and social regeneration of the neighbourhood and its conversion into an open and quality public space for coexistence and social dynamisation. A comprehensive action that aims to act and improve from the definition of the structure of the urbanisation, the quality of the urbanisation elements to the resources available for basic supplies, gaining pedestrian space compared to private vehicles, reducing atmospheric pollution, reducing noise, improving lighting and living conditions, as well as guaranteeing universal accessibility and improving the urban landscape, with the aim of improving the quality of life of citizens and social cohesion. The urban, physical and social regeneration operation will comprehensively improve the environment of a disadvantaged neighbourhood, with a deficit of public space, the Barrio del Rio Turia, which presents a high risk of degradation and social segregation due to the habitability conditions and the poor urban quality of the environment segmenting the social strata that access their homes and will contribute to its conversion into a public space of quality coexistence and social dynamism and to the integration and identity of the neighbourhood. The urban regeneration actions to be carried out include: the demolition of the current pavements, the replacement of urban facilities (lighting, sewerage, drainage and drinking water), the expansion of pedestrian space (wider sidewalks with continuous pavements and accessible walkways), new irrigation network and landscaping, combined with street furniture (benches and garbage cans) to create rest areas and urban quality.
