Digital Transformation of Vall d’Hebron Hospital at the service of the patient: SmartProcess and SmartCare

1.1 Summary of the operation_x000D_ Vall d'Hebron is the largest hospital campus in Catalonia. It consists of 22 buildings where more than 45,000 people circulate daily and serves patients of great cultural diversity and disposable income. For patients, interacting with the healthcare world, especially with such a large and superspecialized hospital, is an intense experience but at the same time accompanied by lack of kwnoledge, anguish and uncertainty that negatively affect their well-being and autonomy._x000D_ My Vall Hebron gives name to the new project of digital transformation for the improvement of the patient experience that aims to advance in more efficient and democratic solutions for a more personalized and integral care in the continuum of care, making more accessible the information and relationship with the hospital and the creation of tools that favor the participation and involvement of the patients in their treatment and health._x000D_ The new project is part of the smart hospital transformation context (SmartHospital), focusing on two areas: the customization, integration and humanization of SmartCare solutions and the improvement of advanced processes to guarantee security, stability and monitoring, SmartProcess ._x000D_ 1. Projects linked to SmartCare_x000D_ 1.1. Window Open to the world. The improvement in the evolution of patients is linked to the fact of being able to maintain their life and relationship with the environment that has been interrupted by being admitted. The free wifi project ensures universal access of hospitalized patients to their outside world (school, work, family and friends, patient associations), training and knowledge about their illness._x000D_ 1.2. New communication channels: Web and App. Thanks to mobile devices we can optimize and personalize communication and information with patients and interact more effectively by providing the right information, at the right time and through the appropriate channel. This improves the procedures, information, continuum of care, service, and give tools to patients for a more expert approach, better monitoring of their pathologies and better adherence to treatments favoring the relationship and transparency of HUVH with patients to improve your experience._x000D_ 1.3. Technologies that improve the experience and involvement of the patient. Solutions of telemedicine, communication, virtual reality, gamification and remote monitoring bring the patient and professionals closer together and guarantee a continuum of care, attention and response at the most appropriate point in the system._x000D_ 1.4.- Hospital navigation of patients._x000D_ The new Valle Hebrón Plan of comprehensive interactive guide for patients, through new digital guidance tools (indoor and outdoor), digital kiosk solutions and digital and interactive signage should help guide patients and reduce the anguish that generates not knowing how to locate yourself or how to go to a certain point._x000D_ 2.- Projects linked to Smart Process_x000D_ 2.1 Safe and paperless processes - The elimination of paper and digital transformation implies a reengineering and revision of the processes to make them safer and more robust._x000D_ 2.2 Traceability of people and assets - Real Time Location solutions for patients in especially critical environments (Emergency and Surgical Block) achieve an increase in the satisfaction of staff and patients, patient safety, and an increase in efficiency improving workflows .
