"The Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CIMUS) at the USC works with the aim of carrying out basic research of proven quality and achieving advances in the prevention, understanding and treatment of chronic disease. In order to fulfil this mission, the scientific activity of the CIMUS will be reorganised on the basis of three programmes which regulate the thematic research lines grouped in the areas of Neurosciences, Cancer and Cardiometabolism._x000D_ The CIMUS is specialized in cancer, endocrinology, obesity and neurogenerative and cardiovascular diseases. It addresses these areas through research in three transversal fields: Genetics and functional genomics, drug development and nanomedicine and nanovehiculation. It now intends to incorporate new lines that will allow it to continue to position itself in cutting-edge issues: Alzheimer's, exosomes, microbiota, CART.
