CITIUS strategic grouping (USC)

CITIUS is a sub-group research structure of the USC that is part of the network of Campus Vida centers, specialized in complementary fields of research in life sciences. CITIUS specializes in ICT, but with several complementary research programs of the other centers in the network, such as, for example, E-Health or Artificial Vision. Along with these two, the center's research lines are completed by High Performance Computing and Cloud programs; Data engineering; Artificial intelligence and multimodal interfaces; Business Intelligence and web; and Personal robots._x000D_ CITIUS 'scientific strategic project is called: From sensors to language. The starting hypothesis raises the need for an integrative vision to address the challenges that are presented to the so-called information technologies since it is understood that, from an overall and multidisciplinary vision, solutions with a greater impact and scope can be provided assuming that from the same environment, sufficient cohesion, compatibility, integrability and reliability can be provided, in terms of technology._x000D_ The purpose of the project is the design, development, implementation and evaluation of a set of models, techniques, tools and devices grouped in a set of processing blocks that operate as scientific-technological challenges: (1) autonomous sensorization; (2) access to data; (3) data analysis; (4) high-performance computing; and (5) natural language generation. This decomposition does not presuppose a single flow of processing. Each block constitutes a scientific priority with specific objectives and autonomous results. Likewise, a family of solutions in the field of transfer will be provided at the end of the project.
