CO2PUSHOE 2. Sustainable carbon dioxide polyurethanes for the footwear industry

All think of carbon dioxide (CO2) as a contaminant gas and one of the causes of the greenhouse effect and the climate change; However, today we could already consider CO2 as a raw material for new industrial and sustainable uses. In this regard, the use of CO2 may be used for the synthesis of new materials, for example for the production of new polymers sustainable basis, without relying on non-renewable fossil resources. The CO2PUSHOE II project involves the development of adhesives and elastomers for footwear from CO2-based polyurethanes. This new generation of materials show improved properties compared to those from oil. It is to consolidate an alternative to traditional materials polyurethane used so far in the footwear industry as elastomers and adhesives, which will result in less dependence on fossil materials and reducing waste, increasing innovation and therefore the competitiveness of the footwear sector. Since footwear sector is aware of the need for innovation and improvem
