On 11 March 2020, the World Health Organization declared the situation caused by COVID-19 as an international pandemic. This pandemic spread with unusual virulence and speed, to the extreme that, since mid-March and in just three weeks died diagnosed with this cause in the Valencian Community around 900 people, out of a total of 1,432 deaths recorded to date. Obviously, and as is happening in many regions of our environment, the impact on our health and care system has reached alarming levels of criticality; thus, and just to mention hospital care, 5,820 people with ID-ID19 have required hospitalization, and of these, 744 have had to be admitted to Intensive Care Units in the Valencian Community._x000D_ _x000D_ In response initially to the rapid progression of the disease, and subsequently to evidence of possible uncontrolled outbreaks of the disease, the Department of Universal Health and Public Health has been intervening through emergency procedures to respond to the preventive and assistance needs of the disease._x000D_ _x000D_ It should be taken into consideration that, the attention to the pandemic led by the CSUiSP, covers a wide range of actions that cover both works, services and procurement of health equipment and materials, and that such actions, Although they mainly concern health and research centres under the CSU, they have also targeted the social and health homes of our Community or any public or private body under the Generalitat. However, as will be specified below, the actions covered by this Operation have focused on specific areas of intervention, in accordance with the provisions of Art. 25a, paragraph 7, of Regulation 2020/558 amending Regulations 1301/2013 and 1302/2013.
