The section under consideration is part of the main road G1-5, which now passes through the centre of Krško and divides the city into two parts. The aim of the project is to redirect north-south transit traffic to the bypass, ensure a safer transport connection, reduce travel times and improve the environment in the settlement. The bypass road system will allow faster access to the A2 motorway or connection to the TEN-T network and contribute to the achievement of the specific objective PN 7.2: better transport links to facilitate accessibility and more coherent development and contribute to the achievement of the specific result indicator and the impact indicator of this LMP. The project is based on the Transport Development Strategy in the Republic of Slovenia and the National Transport Development Programme and brings significant economic benefits for the people and the economy of the region. The built bypass Krško will replace the section of the state road G1-5/0361.
