Improving the quality of life of the population in Dorohoi Municipality

The overall objective of the project is to: Improving the quality of life in the city of Dorohoi, Botosani county. Project contribution to OS 13.1 — Improving the quality of life of the population in small and medium-sized cities in Romania The project will contribute directly to: — improving the quality of social infrastructure offered to the population by setting up new services; — improving the quality of cultural services offered to the population; — improving the quality of public services in the road sector through street rehabilitation. Project contribution to meeting the objectives of Investment Priority 9b — Providing support for physical, economic and social revitalisation of disadvantaged communities in urban and rural regions The implementation of the project will contribute to: — promoting social inclusion and preventing marginalisation of disadvantaged groups or vulnerable groups by ensuring an educational process at European standards; — combating territorial segregation by improving access to public services as a result of the rehabilitation of some roads on the territory of the city. The city of Dorohoi falls among small and medium-sized cities with a population of 30,823 inhabitants in 2018, according to INSSE. According to the Atlas of marginalised urban areas in Dorohoi city 57.66 % of the population is disadvantaged on at least one of the 4 monitored criteria and only 41 % of the population live in unadvantaged areas. Within the project will be achieved socio-cultural and road infrastructure objectives that will address the population of the city as a whole, thus ensuring the integrated character of the project. Special attention will be paid to vulnerable and disabled social groups. The investments envisaged are: establishment of the Dorohoi Multifunctional Social Day Center; rehabilitation of the Dorohoi Municipal House of Culture”; rehabilitation and modernisation of a road in the locality. The project contributes directly to the achievement of Axis 13.1 objective and investment priority 9b, having an integrated character through the variety of investment objectives proposed for financing and the diversity of the categories of beneficiaries of this project. The project will have a significant impact on the whole local community, not just one category of beneficiaries. The complementary activities of the project will lead to the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of the city of Dorohoi in the socio-cultural fields and the quality of urban spaces. None of the objectives that will be achieved through the project fall under State aid.
