The objectives of the Community are to increase the social and social participation of the residents of the assisted area, to initiate, support and support voluntary activities on the ground, to improve labour market integration opportunities and to increase the attractiveness of the city of Kamenz as a place of life. To this end, a citizens’ shop is created in the Gründerzeitviertel, which is a meeting place for the residents of the assisted area as well as the starting point and coordination point of voluntary support services (creation and networking of a volunteer exchange, which is permanently integrated into the urban structure). Existing offers on the ground will be further interlinked. By volunteering, participants improve their labour market-relevant skills (practical testing of personal, social and professional skills) and participate again in social and social processes (contact with users of voluntary services, residents, cooperation partners, etc.). This will strengthen the local quality of life and the urban community. In addition to about 1200 participations in the open meeting (citizens’ shop), about 15 participants will be active as volunteers in the project.
