The starting point is the reduction of a focal point with a high risk potential for social peace. In the area of Fichtestr./Geschwister-Scholl-Str./Jesauerstr., a “drinking meeting point” has been established, where an equal, growing circle of people meets every day. The need lies in the creation of a space for the target group that forms an alternative and perspective — spatially, socially and as a place of opportunities beyond alcohol and need for help. Because of addiction, the place must offer low-threshold access, allow informal exchanges, offer liability if necessary. The objectives are: Support for the target group in identifying and addressing specific problems, teaching basic key and educational competences usable on the labour market, planning opportunities through counselling and support. Mediation and mediation takes place in the district between different interests; e.g. through network building and compaction. This results in an increase in the attractiveness of the neighbourhood, the de-intensification of a social focal point, and at the same time an increase in neighbourly and civic engagement and participation in society. The project will be implemented as a mix of open and closed action. Open: Project club with non-binding, day-to-day approach & low-threshold access (2500 participations); Closed: Conception, realisation and reflection of project work (20 participants).
