Implementation or content: a) Workshops with students In feedback with teachers in schools, opportunities for pupils’ participation in the design of school life and everyday life are identified. Through workshops, children learn to consciously perceive and accept differences, can try out when taking on responsibility and can recognise their own strengths and increase skills. Within this framework, specific offers are also to be found, e.g. for class speakers, their roles and tasks. b) Open offers for parents and grandparents In contact with parents and grandparents of pupils, the importance and possibilities of their own active participation as well as their children will be discussed within the framework of a regular open parents’ café. In doing so, account must be taken of the opportunities of disadvantaged groups. Through exchange and thematic-oriented discussions, trying out in simulated situations as well as excursions, motivation and skills are promoted, to use participation opportunities in schools and communities themselves or to strengthen their children. Who will take on what tasks in the action? The project is led by a socio-pedagogical specialist. In feedback with schools, this clarifies possibilities for strengthening the participation culture, implements suitable democracy pedagogical offers for pupils in consultation and cooperation with teachers.
