Mint frontier workers — the STEM workshop of the HTW Dresden — extension

The central subject is the further development of a flexible, useful and customizable modular kit consisting of basic, expansion and special modules for all participating study programmes/specialties, from which offers tailored specifically to the participant groups, such as experiments, workshops and project work, are designed. While basic modules are characterised by a high degree of abstraction, the teaching of a majority of basic knowledge, elaborate preparation, implementation/supervising and follow-up, a high overlap between different courses/subject areas or different teaching content, special modules are characterised by a very high degree of specialisation, the teaching of specialisation and specialised knowledge, the interpretation as team and project work, a high proportion of applied research and interdisciplinaryism. The extension modules form the link between them. The project seamlessly joins the STEM Border Workers project, which was funded from 2017-2020. The focus is on students from the 1st to the 5th. Semesters and the basic and extension modules that are particularly suitable for this target group. The formats are further developed to help participants acquire or expand soft skills (such as teamwork, communication, etc.) and motivate them with a successful solution of practical tasks.
