We assume that a part of parenthood that is not to be underestimated will need opportunities for reading and writing, thus promoting literality. (see results of the 8th Symposium Literacy and Documentation Volume 8 by Joachim Bothe). Studies show that there are families with negatiove school experiences and/or a low level of formal education. We see the project as a contribution in the context of adult qualification in the context of family life and is part of the Familiy-Literacy programme. The “Parent Academy” is offered as a school- and life-oriented literacy course to develop, promote and strengthen parents’ educational skills.
