Antimicrobial resistance is a major public health problem. As part of a health biomonitoring of the Aquitain coast, an epidemiological investigation of antibiotic resistance is proposed to document causal relationships between wild and domestic natural coastal ecosystems and human health. Animal and human communities are interacting and contact points between the environment, humans and animals are all possible pathways for the passage of antimicrobial-resistant microorganisms. As antimicrobial resistance gene reservoirs are unknown, this study will, among other things, determine whether a particular environmental niche is distinguished.
