COOPALIM is a participatory and solidarity food cooperative created in September 2017 in Strasbourg. It comes from a citizens’ initiative with a strong involvement of its members. It wishes to implement its values imbued with the social and solidarity economy by offering local products in short circuit, healthy and tasteful. For this, his project is to open an innovative supermarket in which each member actively participates by offering 3 hours/month. By developing in this way, COOPALIM wishes to meet a demand and the needs of individuals and families in the territory. It also intends to develop services aimed at solidarity and social cohesion: healthy eating education, zero-waste workshops, etc. The association is based on the voluntary commitment of its members, as well as the commitment of some 50 highly invested volunteers. This requires coordination, structuring training. E development is inherent in the project: to ensure its success, Coopalim must exceed a thousand active members who are also the shop’s buyers. The aim of the association is to establish itself in a larger and better adapted premises by 2022, and adopt an appropriate legal form for the development of its business. To make progress in this direction, professionalisation and a sustained investment in its services as well as a salary hiring are necessary.
