PRIMMO — Mutualised Medical Research and Innovation Platform

This operation consists of the financing of 4 projects leading to the establishment and launch of a Mutualised Medical Research and Innovation Platform (PRIMMO). The latter aims to promote translational research in the field of health, based on exchanges between basic and clinical research, as well as between researchers, doctors and industry. Better caring for the sick and advancing well-being care requires the discovery of new biotechnologies. To do this, it is necessary to bring together academic laboratories, pharmaceutical laboratories, industrial laboratories and hospitals in one place in order to facilitate exchanges and to move faster into advances in the service of patients. The Grand Campus Orléanais has extraordinary basic research capabilities and a strength in clinical research supported by CHRO. There would be a lack of a structured plan to take advantage of these capabilities by bridging the gap between the basic and clinical research communities so that new and existing knowledge can be used to improve different therapeutic treatments. This coordination must be stepped up at the Orlean and regional level. Based on the structured network of the Grand Campus and ARD2020 projects, PRIMMO will support translational health research projects involving academic, hospital and business sectors.
