Urban restructuring of the place Fermat

This project is part of the 2015-2020 City Contract for the Priority District of the City Orgeval, and is elected to the New Urban Renewal Program for the period 2016-2024. One of the major challenges is the urban and commercial restructuring of the Fermat Square to develop a centrality that radiates on both sides of the tram station. This square is marked by the presence of a set of fragile condominiums (324 dwellings) managed by 4 different trustees, surrounding the central public space and hosting cells of lost speed activities. The community and its partners also wish to support the co-owners in the rehabilitation and residentisation of their heritage in order to be fully integrated into the process of upgrading the image of the neighbourhood. The Fermat Square did not receive assistance under the 1st Urban Renewal Programme. In this context of transformation, the public spaces, and the Fermat Square in particular, are both places of sociability of the population but also the nodes of an ongoing urban recomposition. This operation presents the following fitting-outs: green spaces (vegetation), requalification of pedestrian public spaces. This work is carried out by the City of Reims.
