As part of a global programme to restore the rivers of the Agly watershed, located in Aude and the Pyrénées-Orientales, the Syndicat Mixte du Bassin Versant de l’Agly (SMBVA) is carrying out 7 projects in the municipalities of Sournia, Pézilla-de-Conflent, Felluns, Maury, Estagel, Espira-de-l’Agly and Rivesaltes. These yards cover a 9 500 m line of streams for better ripisylve management (selective felling, brushing, unlocking and more than 30.000 m² of landings (remobilisation of sediments). This stream restoration operation aims to reduce the risk of flooding in the Agly watershed.
