The Museum of Natural History of Le Havre is embarking on an ambitious project of a museum centre comprising several aspects:- an exceptional collection site transformed into an insertion site in order to prepare for the move to new reserves, — a project of new museum reserves through the rehabilitation of the Louis richard Workshops building — a modernisation of the Muséum, place of the old market, present place of exhibition and animation and reception of the public; a project to rehabilitate the former Ecole Jean Macé, the place of the old market, in order to expand and considerably increase the spaces devoted to the public (library, animation, permanent exhibition, etc.)The operation described here concerns more specifically the project of new museum reserves, located in the Metropolitan Curriculum. In addition to the proper functioning of the museum, the aim is to diversify the activity of this territory and to equip it with new vocations, as well as to improve the living environment. The new reserves will allow researchers and individuals to be welcomed in good conditions. Storage conditions will also be greatly improved, allowing for better conservation and enhancement of the Havr heritage and the enrichment of collections. The cultural influence of the Havrais territory will be strengthened. The former Louis Richard Workshops also host the reserves of the French Lines, which have been the subject of work in recent years (not funded under this project).
