The Montpellier Functional Proteomics Platform (PPF) represents one of the four technical platforms of the Montpellier Proteome Pole, a research infrastructure bringing together all the material and scientific resources for proteomic analysis (study of the proteins of a cell at a given time and under given conditions). The operation presented aims to acquire and implement a mass spectrometer equipped with ion mobility within this technical platform, in order to conduct an innovative research project aimed at characterising the mechanism of action of antiviral molecules. This project will be led by a research team of the IGF (Institute of Functional Genomics), in partnership with the Montpelliéraine biotech company ABIVAX. The ion mobility mass spectrometer will subsequently be made available to the entire scientific community and industry, and will cover a new field of investigation of proteomics by allowing single molecule-scale analyses.
