As part of a global programme to restore the rivers of the Agly watershed, the Syndicat Mixte du Bassin Versant de l’Agly (SMBVA) is carrying out 12 projects in municipalities of the Department of Eastern Pyrenees: Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, Cassagnes, Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes, Maury, Planèzes, Rasiguères, Latour-de-France, Tautavel, Vingrau, Peyrestortes, Estagel and Cases-de-Pène. This work involves the management of ripisylve (selective felling of sick or invasive risk trees, removal of ice jams) and landing management (remobilisation of sediments). These yards cover a 19 km line of streams and more than 38.000 m² of landings.
