COMMUTING POLE INTERMODAL EXCHANGE STATION ROUEN RIGHT BANK AND SURROUNDING AREA

Rouen Train Station is a major equipment in the Metropolis and the Haute-Normandie Region. With 6 million passengers per year, this is the 15th station in France in terms of traffic. The station and its surroundings are practiced daily by travellers, tourists, motorists in transit, but also by the inhabitants of the town. The practice of this space is thus manifested by the use of different modes of travel. Thus, the overlapping of traffic and modes, the coexistence of exchanges and flows create traffic difficulties, problems of service and accessibility of the station (TC penalised by traffic, wild parking, etc.), conflict zones for soft modes (including problems of crossing the boulevards), and public spaces saturated, illegible and unfriendly for the traveller and the user. the spatial and functional articulation between the North-South Arc and the outskirts of Rouen station right bank is necessary for the future High Service Bus (B.H.N.S.) to be efficiently connected to the tram and station. This optimised articulation will enable it to play the structuring role that must be devolved to the hubs of transport networks in order to make the train a mode of urban transport of everyday life.
