ENR — ERDF — INVT — SEMEDI — CREATION OF HEAT

The incineration of hazardous industrial waste by the company SEDIBEX located in SANDOUVILE (HAVRE port access No. 5281) generates enormous amounts of heat. Instead of dispersing the resulting vapour into the atmosphere, the project involves valuing it by recovering the calories from the fumes by cooling before treatment. The energy recovered will be used to supply three large industrialists, “Alkion, TSN and Osilub”, located about 3.7 km away, thus preventing them from installing fossil and polluting boilers. The amount of energy is estimated at around 40 000 MWh and the carbon dioxide emission thus avoided is about 8,800 tonnes per year.It should be noted that the waste that SEDIBEX incinerates to produce heat that it sells to its customers also comes from them. The loop of short circuits and circular economy is thus highlighted in this project.
