Wetlands are remarkable natural habitats in Normandy. They are home to almost 40 % of the bird species recorded in the region, but also 100 % of Amphibians and 100 % of Odonates. The flora, linked to these environments, is of an important richness. These habitats are major reservoirs of biodiversity in Normandy and more generally in France. These habitats have seen their area considerably reduced, more than 70 % in about 50 years. The fauna and floristic diversity of these wet biotopes is, factually, seriously threatened. In addition, wet herbaceous spaces naturally tend to wood gradually, adding to the threat to many species related to megaphorbiaia, wet meadows and reeds. The wetlands of Croisy on Andelle, Elbeuf sur Andelle and Mesnil Lieubray welcome the last reeds of this valley. These habitats are critical to creating a vital ecological corridor for many avifaunistic species. They are considered predominant as migration routes in the Regional Ecological Coherence Scheme of the Normandy region. The CenNS has the control of the use or land use of wetlands in the former Haute-Normandie, which it ensures ecological management with the aim of preserving habitats, flora and fauna. Management documents on these 8 wetlands have been produced. These documents outline the various actions to be taken to achieve the conservation objectives of the biological entirety of each site managed by the Conservatory of Natural Spaces of Haute-Normandie.Thus the Conservatoire d’espaces naturelles de Haute-Normandie has set up a campaign in 2019 and 2020 of various ecological management operations on 8 wetlands for which it has control of use or land. These operations will consist mainly of vetting actions to combat spontaneous afforestation, to limit eutrophication and to limit the development of invasive alien species. In addition, actions will make it possible to set up or conduct extensive grazing on certain wetlands. Deforestation operations will also be carried out in specific areas of certain wetlands. Finally, several ponds will be excavated to encourage the reception of Amphibians and Odonates. Several operations such as mowing and digging of pools will be carried out in subcontracting. cutting operations (deforestation and maintenance of tadpoles) will be carried out by the technical team of the Conservatoire d’espaces naturelles Normandie Seine. It consists of six natural area management technicians and a technical manager. They have adequate equipment to carry out this type of restoration work (scrubbers, chainsaws, etc.).
