ERDF FCT CEN NORMANDY MANAGEMENT 2020-2021 RNR EST DE LAFONTAINE HENOUVILLE

The Côte de la Fontaine site in Hénouville was classified as the Regional Natural Reserve by prefectoral order on 21 September 2015. The site has been owned by the Conservatoire d’espaces Normandie Seine since 1996, which also manages it.The Cen Normandie Seine was confirmed in its role as manager of the RNR in 2015.The RNR of “the coast of the fountain” in Hénouville corresponds to a relatively steep limestone hill, located on the right bank of the Seine about ten kilometers west of Rouen. It houses a wide variety of open and closed habitats specific to limestone hills. More than 700 animal or plant taxa are currently identified on the site, including 51 species that may be considered to be of heritage interest in this part of Normandy. The site’s main ecological issues focus on communities of species related to open calciculture lawns. Most of the species of heritage interest identified are related to the warm and dry nature of these habitats, but there are also remarkable taxa associated with more closed or cooler habitats. Maintaining a mosaic of habitats and a balance between open and closed areas is the main objective of the Management Plan drawn up for the period 2018-2025.This dossier aims to implement the management actions for the year 2020-21.
