Realisation of a collective agricultural methanisation unit in Argences en Aubrac (12)

SAS Méthanaubrac is carrying out a project to build and operate a collective methanisation unit in the commune of Argences en Aubrac (Aveyron). This project brings together 39 farmers, the commune, the community of municipalities and interested citizens of the territory. The methanisation unit will produce approximately 3 683 MWh/year of electrical energy sold to EDF. The heat of the cogeneration engine will be recovered by an agri-food company (abattoir) located in the immediate vicinity of the unit. This project, exclusively exploiting biomass of agricultural origin (manure-bearers) is intended to be exemplary and reproducible in other areas of the Aubrac. As such, it is part of the priorities set by the Regional Natural Park of Aubrac, which has accompanied it since its origin. The unit will also support farms invested in the project (hygiene of the digestate, improvement of spreading conditions, saving time, etc.). The estimated period for carrying out the operation is from 01/04/2016 to 31/03/2019.
