The promising project is the result of the meeting in 2011 between the company ENERIA, which specialises in the construction of power plants, the Caisse des Dépôts and SAS EVAM representing the breeders. This partnership, complemented by ENGIE BIOGAZ in 2018, brought together the stakeholders in the area around the project for the methanisation plant. A process of co-development and consultation, bringing together breeders, elected representatives and residents of the territory, made it possible to envisage the realisation of a project in Montbazens (12). The methanisation facility will recover 89,000 tonnes per year of livestock manure, which is currently applied and generates olfactory nuisances and water quality degradation. The Methaneisation Unit will also be able to process approximately 12,500 tonnes per year of co-substrates of agri-food industries. The Methaneisation Unit promises to produce: — biomethane injected into the TIGF transport network after purification of the produced biogas, — solid digestate enriched with evapoconcentration concentrate, which will fertilise a large area of crops. And this unit will recover manure from livestock, in order to: — to improve the management conditions of these effluents, — to maintain the activity of more than 70 farms involved in the project. The methanisation unit will generate 13 local full-time equivalent jobs (FTEs).
