The aim of the South Urban Cable Car is to connect the sites of Paul Sabatier University, the Rangueil University and Oncopole through a cable transport system — to meet the need for travel between these sites. It will be the longest in France, with its 3 km track. At the end of 2020, Toulouse will join the closed circle of major cities that have chosen this mode of transport, such as New York, Rio and Barcelona. At the level of France, this will be one of the first urban transport systems of the gondola type offering particularly attractive throughputs and frequencies: 8,000 passengers expected per day, 1 cabin every 1 min 30 in rush hour.
