As part of a policy of sustainable development, the fight against global warming, and a desire for energy independence based on local and renewable energies and the energy transition, the city of Amiens wanted to carry out a strong, proactive and ambitious project to develop its heating networks by creating new, more efficient, innovative and environmentally friendly networks. This operation is carried out by a public service delegation entrusted to a Single Operation Mixed Economy Company (SEMOP) called “Amiens Énergies”. The future heat network will serve the city and its agglomeration (public facilities, tertiary premises and collective housing) by providing 62.5 % high-quality heating powered by renewable energy and recovery, at a controlled and secure cost. It will improve the purchasing power of companies and residents that will be connected to the grid by lowering and stabilising the price of their energy bills. This action — Phase 1 — specifically addresses the North-South interconnection of the central area of the project comprising the existing network: — Nord-Pigeonnier, densified and connected to a new Central West (Coliseum) — Sud-Rollin network, densified and connected to a new school city network west of Rue Saint-Fuscien This represents the creation of: — 29 195 ml new network — 118 new substations to be connected
