Biological Resource Centre Tropical Plants Tranche 1 (CRB PT)

The project is divided into two successive tranches, one for the period 2015-2017 and the second for the period 2018-2020. This case deals with tranche 1. The project, carried out jointly with INRA, aims to consolidate the activity of the CRB (Centre for Biological Resources) Tropical Plants (PT), in the areas of: I/the secure and sustainable conservation of existing collections (living and dead); II/standardisation to international standards of the CRB Information System and interfacing with so-called systems; III/Quality Management System (QMS) iv/recruitment of new collections of heritage interest and increment of collections; v/Conservation of threatened orchid Epidendrum revertianum, endemic to the Lesser Antilles. This reinforcement will strengthen the certification of the CRB’s activities obtained in 2014 and reinforce its involvement in various networks such as Inter-TROP (tropical RCR of Réunion, French Guiana, Montpellier and Corsica, led by the CRB PT of Guadeloupe) and the network of French CRBs. This project complements the projects PO-FEDER MALIN and CAVALBIO. The latter focuses in particular on the improvement and varietal innovation of the agricultural world, in connection with the RITA. The preservation of genetic diversity and the maintenance under standardised conditions of collections enable the identification of properties of interest that could potentially meet the requirements
