The SEC (Caribbean wind company) has developed a development plan based on the establishment of new generation farms. The “Deschamps” project consists of the construction of a 12 MW farm with storage, consisting of 8 wind turbines of 1.5 MW each. The site is located in the territory of the commune of Anse-Bertrand place-called Mazoulier. The project is located on an area of 15.7 ha on plots belonging to the Conseil Général de la Guadeloupe, which makes all the land available, constituting the right of way for the project, through the establishment of a lease for the benefit of the SEC. It is located in a larger wind site that already includes two wind farms: the Parc de Petit Canal (EDF-ENR) and the park of La Mahaudière owned by the SEC which is also the operator. This project was selected as part of a call for tenders issued by the Ministry of Ecologia, ENERGIE, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT and MER on Corsica and the 4 overseas departments (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana and Réunion) and considered fully admissible by the competent services in November 2015 with a purchase price of EUR 164.5. With a production capacity of 25 700 MWh/year, the project is part of the EPP, which plans to reach 50 % renewable energy by 2020 throughout Guadeloupe. This production represents the equivalent of the annual consumption of 10,000 households in Guadeloupe and will avoid 13000 tonnes CO2/year equivalent
