The Centre for Biological Resources “Animal Production and Health” is a joint project carried out within the framework of a consortium involving INRA and CIRAD, whose activities have been gradually implemented from 2004 onwards. Each functional unit of the CRB (INRA-URZ and UMR CIRAD-INRA ASTRE) is engaged in the preservation of collections of various biological materials of animal origin (sperm, blood, serum, tissues, strains of pathogens, etc.). At regional level, these collections support numerous research work carried out by the two partner teams involved in the CRB, in particular those carried out in the “MALIN” and “AGROECODIV” programmes of the OP 2014-2020. They thus participate in the development of innovations for the control of health and the improvement of production in sustainable livestock systems, through the development of local genetic resources. The general objective of Operation CPER CRB-PSA is to strengthen the activity of this CRB, in the organisational (SMQ, Databases) and operational fields (incrementation, security and characterisation of collections), to enable it to consolidate and maintain its reference role in the Caribbean area and to be recognised at national, regional and international level. In the 1st tranche (2015-2017), a particular effort was focused on infrastructure and equipment. The 2nd tranche aims to finalise these, and above all to amplify the range of collections
